Carburising is a heat treatment process where the steel is heated which liberates the carbon as it decomposes. When it has cooled, the surface remains hard whilst the core remains soft and tough. This is an effective way of enhancing the material’s strength and wear properties.
4. Recyclable
Like most metals, scrapped mild steel is vital in the production of new batches. Due to its magnetic properties, MS channels are easy to recover from unsorted waste.
